Lucknow Metro’s East-West Corridor Gets NPG Approval.
Lucknow: Another positive initiative has been taken towards the approval of the DPR for the proposed East-West Corridor (Charbagh to Vasantkunj) of Lucknow Metro. The project was approved by the Network Planning Group (NPG) in Delhi on 9th July 2024. This project had already received approval from the state government in March this year.
Length will be more than 11 km
The total route length of the proposed East-West Corridor from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will be 11.165 km, of which the elevated length will be 4.286 km, while the underground length will be 6.879 km. The total number of stations in this corridor will be 12, including 7 underground and 5 elevated stations. The estimated time for completion of this proposed corridor is 5 years, with an estimated cost of Rs 5081 crore. The East-West corridor will connect with the Charbagh Metro Station of the existing North-South Corridor, making Charbagh Metro Station an interchange station.
Connectivity will be available from areas like Aminabad, Chowk
The East-West Corridor of Lucknow Metro from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will provide connectivity to major locations in Lucknow such as Aminabad and Chowk. It will also connect other congested areas along its route, providing convenience to the people of Lucknow.
