Successful Surgery of Bhawani’s Congenital Heart Disease Under Chirayu Scheme
Raipur : The Chirayu Scheme, part of the National Child Health Programme under the National Health Mission, is proving to be a blessing for children. Many children in Narayanpur district have benefited from this initiative, including Bhawani Usendi, a resident of Nednar village in Orchha development block, who was suffering from a congenital heart disease.
Bhawani, aged 3, is the daughter of farmer Murra Ram Usendi and homemaker Shanti Usendi. Due to the family’s weak financial condition, they were struggling to afford treatment for her heart condition.
During routine health check-ups conducted at Anganwadi centres by the Chirayu team — including Dr. Satish Usendi, Dr. Silvanti Singh, pharmacist Madan Shori, lab technician Dilip Usendi, and ANM Jasumati Kachlam — Bhawani’s condition was identified. Her parents were then informed about free treatment facilities available in a reputed hospital in Raipur.
Under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. S.S. Raj, Block Medical Officer Dr. Hurmendra Jurri, and District Programme Manager Rajeev Baghel, the Chirayu team took Bhawani to Shri Balaji Hospital, Raipur, where her surgery was successfully conducted free of cost.
The successful operation brought immense relief and joy to Bhawani’s family. Her parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Health Department and the Chirayu Team of Orchha for their timely help and support.
