Media Workshop Held in Mamit
Mamit : The District Information & Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), Mamit, organized a Media Workshop for members of the print and digital media at the DIPRO Chamber in Mamit.
The inaugural session of the workshop was presided over by Pi Biaknungi, DIPRO, while Pu Lalhuma, President of MJA Mamit, expressed his gratitude to the I&PR Department, the nodal department for organizing the workshop. In his address, he encouraged all participants to make the most of the opportunity to gain deeper understanding and improve their reporting skills. He stressed the importance of accuracy in both written Mizo language and correct usage in various formats, especially as misinformation continues to spread widely on social media. He also highlighted the increasing production of videos in incorrect Mizo, emphasizing the need for proper language usage.
During the session, Pu K.T.C. Lalrinchhana, Director of Mamit Vision, stated that being aware and updated in today’s rapidly evolving world is crucial. He emphasized that both print and digital media professionals must adapt to changing times while also understanding the mindsets and preferences of the general public. He stressed that such adaptation is key to moving forward in the field.
The concluding session was chaired by Pu R.D. Darthanzauva, Vice President of MJA Mamit. The workshop featured two key presentations: “Traditional Media and New Media” by Pu Vanneihtluanga, and “Correct Mizo Writing Practices” by Dr. H. Laldinmawia. These sessions were followed by group discussions led by Pi Biaknungi (DIPRO) and Pu C. Lalramdinzela (MJA Mamit), in which participants reflected on the presentations and shared ideas for future improvements in local media practices.
