Mizoram Police CID and Aizawl DEF Conduct Mass Drug Disposal Event
Aizawl – On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking (26 June), the Mizoram Police Crime Investigation Department (CID) in collaboration with the Aizawl District Enforcement Force (DEF) today held a large-scale drug destruction ceremony. The event took place at the incinerator facility of Zoram Medical College & Hospital, Falkawn, where seized narcotics were safely burned.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Dingluaia, IPS, DIG (CID), who emphasized the importance of these joint operations in combating narcotics trafficking. He noted that today’s destruction underscores the Mizoram Police’s commitment to keeping illegal drugs off our streets and away from our youth.
Earlier in the day, officers from the Police Headquarters and all field units participated in educational and awareness activities across various districts. These sessions—organized under the banner of the International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking—focused on prevention, rehabilitation pathways, and community vigilance.
Through coordinated enforcement, public outreach, and safe disposal measures, the Mizoram Police CID and Aizawl DEF continue to lead the fight against drug abuse, reinforcing the message that a drug-free society is essential for public health and safety.
