Visually Impaired Couple Receives Compassionate Support from Education Minister During Meeting
Jaipur — Demonstrating empathy and a strong sense of humanity, Rajasthan’s Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, Shri Madan Dilawar, extended support to a visually impaired couple during an official meeting by granting them a transfer to their desired location.
The incident occurred on Thursday during a meeting Shri Dilawar was conducting with officials from the Panchayati Raj Department. In the middle of the session, a visually impaired couple entered the room, seeking to meet the minister. When security personnel attempted to stop them, Shri Dilawar intervened and warmly invited them inside.
Upon inquiry, the man, Deepak Kumar, shared that he hails from Sri Ganganagar district and currently serves as a Level-I Special Education (Visual Impairment) teacher at the Government Upper Primary School, Jagmal Ka Tala, Gram Panchayat Mangta, Block Dhorimanna in Barmer district—around 700 kilometers from his home.
He explained the difficulties he faces due to the long distance from his native place, especially since his wife is also 100% visually impaired. Traveling such a long distance poses a serious challenge for both of them.
Moved by their situation, the Education Minister asked Deepak Kumar where he would prefer to be posted. When Mr. Kumar responded that the Government Girls’ Upper Primary School in Ashok Nagar, Sri Ganganagar—close to his home—would be ideal, Shri Dilawar immediately issued orders for his transfer to that school.
He also directed the Chief District Education Officer of Sri Ganganagar, who was present at the meeting, to ensure Deepak Kumar is posted to the desired school and to assist in relieving him from his current assignment in Barmer.
The visually impaired couple expressed heartfelt gratitude to Minister Madan Dilawar for his kindness and prompt action in fulfilling their long-standing request.
