PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme Brings Big Relief to Srinivas Verma

Electricity Bill Reduced by 90%; Contributing to Environmental Protection Through Green Energy

Raipur : The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has proven to be a blessing for common citizens by offering both economic relief and environmental sustainability. One such beneficiary is Mr. Srinivas Verma, a police sub-inspector residing in the Dharampura area of Jagdalpur, who is now not only saving significantly on his electricity bills but is also playing an active role in environmental protection by embracing green energy.

Mr. Verma installed a 3-kilowatt solar panel on the rooftop of his house, which cost approximately Rs 2 lakh. He received a subsidy of Rs 78,000 from the central government under the scheme. To fund the remaining amount, he availed a bank loan of Rs 1 lakh and has already repaid a significant portion of it using the subsidy amount. Previously, his monthly electricity bills ranged from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000, especially during the summer months. Since installing the solar panels, his electricity bill has dropped by over 90%, offering him substantial financial relief.

Calling the scheme a “visionary initiative,” Mr. Verma encouraged fellow citizens to adopt solar energy and take advantage of the scheme to reduce their power bills. He lauded the initiative as a significant step toward environmental conservation and energy self-reliance, expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for implementing the scheme.
