Karnataka Legislative Assembly’s Subordinate Legislation Committee Visits Rajasthan Assembly

On Tuesday, the Subordinate Legislation Committee of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly visited the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. During a courtesy meeting with officials from Rajasthan’s counterpart committee, both sides exchanged literature and insights related to legislative procedures and administrative practices in their respective states.

During the interaction, Rajasthan Assembly officials shared information on various innovative initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani. These included developments in administrative structure, digitization, parliamentary training, research, and archival efforts. Details about workshops and training programs aimed at capacity-building for legislators and officials were also presented.

Members of the visiting Karnataka committee—Shri D.G. Shantagowda, Shri M.K. Krishnappa, Shri T.S. Shrivatsav, Shri A. Kirankumar Kodgi, Shri C.K. Ramamurthy, and Shri Vitthal Somanna Halgekar—were warmly welcomed by Shri Praveen Kumar Mishra, Deputy Secretary of the Rajasthan Assembly’s Subordinate Legislation Committee.

The Karnataka legislators appreciated the working methods adopted by the Rajasthan Assembly, stating that they serve as an inspiration for other states. The delegation also visited the Rajasthan Assembly’s Digital Museum, where they gained valuable insights into the state’s rich parliamentary traditions, democratic evolution, and legislative procedures. They showed particular interest in the audio-visual materials displayed in the museum.

Additionally, the committee toured the main Assembly chamber, where they were briefed on the structure and functioning of the House as well as various aspects of Rajasthan’s parliamentary history. Present on the occasion were Advisor to the Subordinate Legislation Committee Shri Devendra Prasad Chautia, Assistant Secretary Shri Dinesh Kumar Jain, Assistant Secretary (Protocol) Shri Dinesh Kumar Sharma, and Section Officer Shri Naveen Dadhich.
