Agricultural Activities Accelerate Across the District
Farmers Pitambar, Naleshwar, and Shankar Express Joy Over Adequate Fertilizer Supply
Government Schemes Bring Cheer Among Farmers
Raipur : Farming activities have gained momentum in Rajnandgaon district as farmers enthusiastically purchase fertilizers and seeds through cooperative societies. The availability of adequate agricultural inputs has sparked optimism, and the fields are buzzing with activity—from tractor ploughing to transplanting and other agricultural work moving swiftly.

Farmers are expressing their satisfaction with the government’s support, especially through various schemes. In a significant move, the scope of the Krishak Unnati Yojana has been expanded beyond paddy cultivation to now include farmers growing pulses, oilseeds, and maize—ensuring broader benefits for cultivators across crop types.
At the Rajnandgaon District Cooperative Central Bank, farmer Mr. Pitambar Verma from Bagatrai village shared that he owns 14 acres of land. On this visit, he purchased 7 sacks of potash and 4 sacks of urea. He confirmed that there is sufficient fertilizer supply in the district. Through his Kisan Credit Card, he received an interest-free loan of ₹72,000, which he plans to use for his farming operations.
Mr. Verma praised the Krishak Unnati Yojana, stating that the government is offering farmers a fair price for their paddy. Under the scheme, paddy is being procured at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal, calculated at 21 quintals per acre—an initiative he called commendable. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the farmer-friendly policies.

Similarly, Mr. Naleshwar Verma from Dilapahari village in Rajnandgaon block mentioned that he purchased two sacks of urea and one sack of potash today. He said that fertilizers and seeds are available in sufficient quantity through local cooperative societies. He also received ₹40,000 via the Kisan Credit Card, which he will invest in his farming work. He commended the government for its positive efforts toward agricultural development.
Mr. Shankar Sahu from Dhaba village in the same block purchased 4 sacks of urea and 4 sacks of potash today. He too echoed satisfaction over the easy availability of agricultural inputs and the government’s proactive role in supporting farmers.
As fertilizer availability increases and financial support reaches farmers in time, the agricultural sector in the district is witnessing renewed energy and progress.
