Sensitive policing: Policeman set an example of humanity

A pregnant woman suffering from pain was carried for 3 kms in a Kanwar and taken to the hospital

Raigarh : Police is always at the forefront to help people. Village Paremer Ghutrupara is situated amidst the mountain forest under Thana Kapu area where it is difficult for a four wheeler vehicle to reach one side of the village during rainy season. In such a situation, the labor pain of a pregnant woman in Ghutrupara became a problem for the family. The family called Dial 112 for help to take pregnant Sushmita (28 years) to the hospital. The call of medical emergency was received by Thana Kapu Rhino. The caller informed that the woman was having labor pain. Constable Vipin Kishore Khalkho and ERV driver Chhotu Das posted on Dial 112 duty left immediately. Since the pregnant woman’s house was located on the other side of the drain, hill and there was no way for vehicle movement, constable Prabal Kishore and driver Chhotu Das reached the woman’s house on foot.

Seeing the condition of the pregnant woman, constable Prabal Kishore without delay convinced the family members to carry the pregnant woman to the vehicle in a Kaanwar and himself along with a young man picked up the woman in the Kaanwar and started walking towards the Dial 112 vehicle. Carrying the pregnant woman in the Kaanwar, the Jawan crossed a hilly stream for about 3 km and reached the Dial 112 vehicle and was taking her to the hospital in the vehicle. On the way, the pregnant woman was in extreme pain and the Jawan showed his understanding and stopped the vehicle behind a tree, where the Mitanin and the woman’s family safely delivered the pregnant woman. She was immediately admitted to the nearest government hospital Jamarga in the Dial 112 vehicle where both the mother and child are healthy. Local people have praised the police for the quick response and help of Dial 112 in such a situation.
