Yogi govt set to launch cow adoption scheme to boost rural self-reliance

Lucknow : In a major push for rural self-reliance, the Yogi government is launching the Mukhyamantri Sahbhagita Yojana—an innovative scheme linking cow protection with economic empowerment. Under the initiative, farmers can adopt 1 to 4 cattle, with cattle sheds built under MGNREGA and small biogas units installed to promote clean energy and sustainable livelihoods.

This cow-centric model aims to strengthen the rural economy by promoting organic farming, bio-fertilizer production, and clean energy. The scheme will also provide a reliable source of income and employment, especially for women self-help groups and rural youth, who will be actively involved in the campaign.

Dr. Anurag Srivastava, OSD, Uttar Pradesh Go Seva Commission, stated that the blueprint of the scheme is ready, and its implementation will begin soon.

By blending tradition with technology, the Mukhyamantri Sahbhagita Yojana presents an integrated model of rural development that encompasses cow conservation, organic agriculture, renewable energy, and social empowerment, thereby paving the way for a more sustainable and economically vibrant village ecosystem.
