Flood Situation Under Control in East Vidarbha; SDRF and NDRF Teams on Alert – CM Devendra FadnavisChief Minister Urges Citizens to Stay Safe

Mumbai : Due to heavy rainfall, a flood situation has developed in parts of East Vidarbha. However, the situation is currently under control, and both the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are fully prepared, informed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the State Assembly.

The issue was raised in the House by MLA Nana Patole.

CM Fadnavis said that due to the flood situation, some passengers were stranded in ST (State Transport) buses. They were safely relocated to nearby schools, and all passengers were sent home without harm.

The Gadchiroli to Nagpur (Armori) route has been closed, but traffic is running smoothly on alternative routes. With water being released from the Gosikhurd Dam, an alert has been issued to all citizens up to Gadchiroli. In low-lying areas of Nagpur city, water has accumulated, and the concerned authorities are actively monitoring the situation. Rescue operations are ongoing. Reports have emerged of one person being swept away in the floodwaters. SDRF and NDRF teams are on standby in the affected areas.

An orange alert remains in effect for Nagpur district, and all relevant agencies are keeping a close watch on the developments. CM Fadnavis has urged the people of Nagpur district to exercise necessary caution and prioritize their safety.
