UP to host ‘Skill Olympic’ in Lucknow on July 15–16 to mark World Youth Skills Day 2025

Lucknow : On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to host a grand “Skill Olympic” in the state capital, Lucknow, on July 15 and 16. The event will be organised under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) with the aim of providing a platform for youth-led innovations, particularly those based on modern technologies like artificial intelligence.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare said the event is being held under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “Selected trainees from training centres operating in every district of the state will participate in the Olympic to showcase their projects, models, apps, or tech-based solutions. This will not only give the youth technological recognition, but also help position them as an industry-ready workforce.”

The Skill Olympic will feature exhibitions of innovations in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, drone technology, health tech, smart agriculture, and digital designing. In a competition-based format, the best innovations will be specially awarded. The event will also see the participation of industry representatives, startup incubators, investors, and academicians.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare added that this is not just an exhibition, but a platform to empower youth. Many participants who were once unemployed are now emerging as AI-trained, skilled entrepreneurs. This initiative is a powerful step towards grounding the goals of the Skill India Mission.
