Mumbai : A message circulating on WhatsApp claiming that the duration of the Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme has been extended to five years is false, the Maharashtra government has clarified. No such decision has been taken, and this is a case of misleading the public. The official duration of the scheme remains 11 months only, according to the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
The scheme was launched via a government resolution dated July 9, 2024, with the objective of enhancing the employability of youth in the state by offering hands-on work experience after their education. Initially, the training duration under the scheme was six months, which has now been extended to 11 months.
Under the scheme:
- Students who have passed Class 12 receive a stipend of ₹6,000 per month.
- Those with ITI or diploma qualifications get ₹8,000 per month.
- Graduates and postgraduates are entitled to a monthly stipend of ₹10,000.
The stipends are directly transferred to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of the trainees. This information was officially provided by the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
