Surprise Inspections Conducted at Cosmetic Shops in Ambikapur by Food & Drug Administration Suspicious Samples Sent to Laboratory for Testing

Raipur : As per the directives of the state government, the Chhattisgarh Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is conducting a special inspection drive in Ambikapur city to ensure the quality of cosmetic products. The initiative aims to provide the general public with safe and standard-quality cosmetics in view of the upcoming festive season.

Under this campaign, several leading cosmetic retail outlets in the city were inspected under the supervision of drug inspectors. Establishments that were examined include Day-to-Day Retails (Banaras Road), Neha Fashion Park (Chandni Chowk), Saheli Stores (Deviganj Road), Chawla General Stores (Babra Complex), and Mahamaya Shringar (Gudri Gali). The inspection involved checking the sale and storage conditions of cosmetic items.

During the inspections, suspicious cosmetic product samples were collected and sent to the State Drug Testing Laboratory in Raipur for quality analysis. Based on the test reports, appropriate legal action will be taken under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

The FDA has urged consumers to carefully examine product packaging, including the manufacture and expiry dates, and manufacturer details before purchasing cosmetic items. This is essential to avoid the use of unsafe or counterfeit products.

The administration has confirmed that such inspection campaigns will continue regularly to ensure that safe, high-quality, and standard cosmetic products are made available to the general public.
