Nitish Kumar Inspects Progress of Landmark Tunnel Connecting Bihar and Patna Museums.

Patna : Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the 1.5 km pedestrian tunnel connecting the Bihar Museum and Patna Museum.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the tunnel construction near the Bihar Museum. Mr. Anjani Kumar Singh, Director General of the Bihar Museum, provided detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the tunnel’s entry system to the Bihar Museum, parking, and other facilities for tourists.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the tunnel construction to facilitate easy movement between the Bihar Museum and Patna Museum, enhancing the visitor experience.

Bihar – Patna Museums’ Tunnel : The tunnel connecting the Bihar Museum and Patna Museum will be approximately 1.5 km long and 8 meters wide, situated 15 meters below ground level. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded the tunnel construction contract to Larsen & Toubro for Rs. 374.12 crore.

Developed to international standards, the Bihar Museum attracts a large number of tourists, as does the Patna Museum. The ongoing expansion and upgradation of the Patna Museum are being carried out effectively. Once the tunnel construction is completed, it is anticipated that the number of tourists visiting both museums will increase significantly.

Following this, the Chief Minister inspected the Patna Museum and its expansion work. He reviewed the newly constructed kitchen, storage facilities, temporary gallery, auditorium, collection store, conservation lab, and the entire premises.

A short film showcasing the upgrade and expansion work of the Patna Museum was presented to the Chief Minister in the auditorium. He directed officials to carry out the upgradation and expansion work efficiently and swiftly, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the old museum, which houses several important archaeological and historical exhibits.

The Chief Minister also inspected the excavation area at the Patna Museum and provided necessary instructions.

Patna Metro Rail Project : The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Patna Metro Rail project construction work. He obtained updates on the progress at Rajendra Nagar, Moinul Haq Stadium, Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak, Pahadi, Zero Mile Metro Station, and ISBT Metro Station. The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the Patna Metro Rail project construction work as per the work plan promptly to benefit the people of Patna. Once the metro construction is completed, it will significantly enhance commuting convenience for Patna residents.
