Bhoramdeo Resonates with Chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’: CM Vishnu Deo Sai Showers Flowers on Thousands of Kanwariyas from Helicopter
Raipur : On the third Monday of the holy month of Sawan, the sacred and historic temple of Baba Bhoramdeo in Chhattisgarh witnessed a divine celebration as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended a grand welcome to thousands of Kanwariyas and Shiva devotees with a flower shower from a helicopter. The chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ echoed throughout the air as devotion reached its peak.

Joining the Chief Minister at the auspicious event were Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, and Deputy Chief Ministers Mr. Vijay Sharma and Mr. Arun Sao.
This marks the second consecutive year that the Chief Minister has personally greeted pilgrims through a ceremonial flower shower. Following this aerial tribute, CM Sai visited the Baba Bhoramdeo temple, where he performed special prayers, Rudrabhishek, and chanted Vedic mantras, praying for the prosperity, peace, and well-being of the state.
Inside the temple complex, he interacted warmly with the pilgrims and devotees, expressing his heartfelt gratitude. “It is a great honor for me to be among the devotees on the sacred soil of Baba Bhoramdeo on the third Monday of Sawan,” he said. “Thousands of devotees walk hundreds of kilometers to reach here—this is a living testimony of our faith, tradition, and cultural heritage.”
On this occasion, CM Sai also honored Pandariya MLA Mrs. Bhavna Bohra, who completed a 151-kilometer foot march from Amarkantak to perform Jalabhishek at Bhoramdeo, by presenting her with saffron robes and a coconut as a mark of respect.
He further announced that under Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a ₹146 crore project has been approved for the Bhoramdeo Corridor Development. This ambitious initiative will not only revitalize the temple complex but also develop a comprehensive religious-tourism circuit from Madwa Mahal and Cherki Mahal to Ramchuwa and Saroda Reservoir.
Additionally, the Chief Minister shared that 5 acres of land is being allocated in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, for the construction of a grand pilgrim rest house to benefit devotees traveling from Chhattisgarh to Amarkantak.
CM Sai extended warm greetings for the holy month of Sawan to all devotees and said the flower shower from the helicopter added a divine and unforgettable touch to this sacred event.
A Sacred Legacy: Devotion Drenches Bhoramdeo in Spiritual Fervor
The tradition of offering Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva, the God of Gods, during Sawan has been followed for centuries. Located 18 km from Kawardha, in the village of Chaura, the 11th-century Bhoramdeo Temple holds immense historical, religious, and archaeological significance.
During Shravan, thousands of pilgrims from regions such as Kabirdham, Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh—and even from Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh—embark on foot pilgrimages to offer water at Baba Bhoramdeo, Budha Mahadev, and Dongariya’s ancient Jaleshwar Shivling.
Carrying sacred water from River Narmada, devotees journey over 150 km barefoot, clad in saffron robes, chanting “Bol Bam” and singing devotional songs, eventually reaching the temples of Bhoramdeo, Jaleshwar Mahadev, and Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev—in a vibrant display of faith and endurance.
