Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath to worship Guru Gorakhnath and bless his disciples on Guru Purnima.

Gorakhpur : On the sacred festival of Guru Purnima, Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform a special worship of Guru Gorakhnath on Sunday, expressing reverence towards the Nath sect Gurus. After completing the ritualistic ceremonies, he will bless his disciples. 

There is also a tradition of offering ‘roti’ to Guru Gorakhnath, considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva, on this festival. The ongoing Shri Ram Katha at the Gorakhnath temple will also conclude with the ‘purnahuti’ on this auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.

The Guru Pujan (worship) at the Gorakhnath temple will begin early Sunday morning. CM Yogi will first perform a complete ritual worship of Guru Gorakhnath. Following this, there will be a special worship ceremony at the samadhi sites of all the Nath sect yogis and the temples of various deities. The worship will conclude with an aarti. 

After the Guru Pujan, Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath will meet with his disciples, who will individually apply tilak to the CM and receive his blessings.

In the Gorakshpeeth, Guru Purnima is an occasion where Nath yogis demonstrate respect for the guru tradition in both practical and theoretical ways. The Nath sect is synonymous with the guru-disciple tradition. The yogis of this sect have maintained the eternal culture of guru devotion and the transfer of yoga practices between gurus and disciples. 

The event at the Gorakhnath temple on Guru Purnima is an important part of this effort. The event conveys the message of respecting Gurus.
