CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Distributes Appointment Letters to 187 Candidates Selected for Irrigation Department and Uttarakhand Transport Corporation

Dehradun, Aug 2025 — Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, while participating in a program organized at the Chief Sevak Sadan, Chief Minister’s Residence, distributed appointment letters to 144 candidates selected for various posts in the Irrigation Department and 43 eligible dependents under the deceased dependent quota in Uttarakhand Transport Corporation. In total, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 187 candidates/dependents selected for various posts.

Extending his best wishes, Chief Minister Dhami urged the newly appointed candidates to work with honesty, integrity, transparency, and dedication. He highlighted that the state government has taken significant steps to provide appointments to the long-pending cases of dependents of deceased employees. Last year, 150 dependents were given appointments, and today, appointment letters were handed over to the remaining 43 eligible dependents.

The Chief Minister informed that due to the efforts of the state government, the Corporation achieved a record profit of over Rs 56 crore in 2024. He remarked that earlier, recruitment processes in the state were plagued by favoritism, malpractices, and corruption. In response, the state government has implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law, ensuring that all recruitments are now conducted with complete transparency and strictly on merit, enabling deserving candidates to fully benefit from their skills and hard work.

CM Dhami shared that in the past three and a half years, over 23,000 youth have secured government jobs in the state. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, stating that no one is spared in cases of corruption.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the people to promote and use indigenous and local products, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call for adopting Swadeshi products. He emphasized the need to strengthen the resolve towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), stating that Uttarakhand, the Land of the Gods, is committed to realizing this vision.

Speaking on the role of the newly appointed candidates in the Irrigation Department, CM Dhami said they will be responsible for designing and planning irrigation projects, which are crucial for expanding irrigation facilities across the state. These candidates will act as the foundational pillars ensuring water reaches farmers’ fields through their technical expertise. He also expressed delight that many selected candidates belong to the state agitation horizontal reservation category, which is a matter of pride for all.

Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj praised the state government’s efforts, highlighting that more than 23,000 youths have been appointed to government jobs under the Chief Minister’s leadership. He stated that unemployment has significantly decreased at both state and national levels. He also noted that the appointment of candidates in the Irrigation Department will further strengthen the department, propelling development at a faster pace.

The program was attended by Cabinet Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi, MLAs Shri Khajan Das, Smt. Savita Kapoor, Secretary Shri Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary Smt. Reena Joshi, and other dignitaries.
