‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign: Women of Ganiyari Engage in Flag-Making, Receive Order for 1.5 Lakh National Flags
Patriotism Bringing Respect and Additional Income
Raipur, Aug 2025 : As part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is being carried out enthusiastically across the country. In line with this, the Nari Shakti Garment Factory in Ganiyari, Bilaspur district, has become a hub of patriotic fervor, where over 100 women from 30 self-help groups associated with the Bihan Scheme are diligently engaged in the production of the national flag.

These women, affectionately called “Didis”, have received an order to prepare over 1.5 lakh Tirangas, which will be distributed to government and private institutions, as well as the general public across the district. Encouraged by the rising demand, the women are fulfilling this responsibility with enthusiasm. This task has not only become a source of additional income for them but has also provided an opportunity to participate in national service. The Didis see this work as a symbol of patriotism and self-respect beyond mere economic earnings.
Mrs. Meena Manikpuri, President of the Nari Shakti Garment Factory, informed that continuous orders are being received from various departments and institutions for flag-making, and the Didis are working relentlessly to fulfill these orders. Group members Rajeshwari Yadav and Nandini Sahu mentioned that around 100 women are involved in the flag-making process, earning an average of ₹500 per day as additional income. They expressed pride in being part of an initiative that directly contributes to serving the nation.
The entire process of making the Tiranga — from spinning the thread to stitching, pressing, and packaging — is being handled independently by these women. This has not only empowered them financially but also boosted their confidence and self-reliance.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Panchayat, Bilaspur, informed that like the previous year, the responsibility of flag production has once again been entrusted to the Didis this year. These flags are being made available to the general public at affordable prices. Sales are being facilitated through a stall set up by the group in the District Panchayat premises.
He appealed to the residents of the district to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes, thereby expressing their patriotism. This campaign is not only spreading the message of national pride to every household but also providing rural women with a dignified means of livelihood, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
