Trump Denies Israeli Intelligence Triggered Iran Assassination Plot Warning

Washington, July 2026 : US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting that Israel supplied intelligence about an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate him, while reiterating that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if such an attack were ever carried out.

Speaking to the New York Post on Friday (US time), Trump rejected claims that Israeli intelligence had alerted Washington to a fresh assassination threat from Iran.

“No, no. Israel came up with nothing. No, no,” Trump said, denying media reports that Israeli agencies had provided information regarding a new plot against him.

Despite brushing aside the reports, Trump acknowledged that he has long considered himself a top target for Tehran and said contingency plans were already in place should any attack succeed.

“I’ve been No. 1 on Iran’s kill list for a long time. That’s the way life is,” Trump said. He added that he had “left instructions” for a massive military response if he were assassinated, declaring that the US would “literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”

Trump’s remarks came amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent military confrontations in the Middle East. Earlier in the day, the President said the United States would continue diplomatic engagement with Iran after formally informing Tehran that the previously announced ceasefire had ended.

The comments also followed media reports claiming that Israeli intelligence had warned the United States about a renewed Iranian assassination plot targeting Trump.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Israeli officials recently shared intelligence indicating that Iran was considering a fresh attempt to target the US President, a move that would significantly escalate the already strained relationship between the two countries.

CNN also reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that Israel had passed the intelligence assessment to American officials. However, the report noted that US intelligence agencies had not independently verified the alleged threat before receiving the Israeli information.

When questioned about the reports earlier, the White House referred media outlets to comments Trump made during the recent NATO summit in Ankara, where he publicly stated that he remained Iran’s “number one” target.

The latest developments come against the backdrop of continuing tensions over Iran’s regional activities and recent military exchanges involving the United States and Israel. While Washington has signalled its willingness to resume diplomatic negotiations with Tehran, Trump’s latest remarks underscored that the US would respond decisively to any direct threat against its leadership.

The exchange highlights the fragile state of US-Iran relations, where diplomatic efforts continue alongside persistent security concerns and heightened rhetoric from both sides.
