Businessmen and social organizations respond to CM Yogi’s call to help flood victims.
Lucknow : In response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s appeal to people to assist flood victims, several businessmen and social organisations have stepped forward to help the marooned people in flood-affected Lakhimpur Kheri.
Acting on the Chief Minister’s guidance, District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal has launched an innovative initiative to support flood-affected families.
With the cooperation of the corporate sector, entrepreneurs, and voluntary organizations, 10,000 special relief kits, valued at approximately Rs 45 lakh, are being prepared for distribution. The special relief kits include a mosquito net, an umbrella, a torch with batteries, two packets of sanitary pads, and a 2-litre thermos for hot water.
Embracing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently highlighted the importance of increased public participation in social responsibility efforts.
DM Durga Shakti Nagpal noted that she contacted social and business organizations for support in response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s concern for flood victims. The response has been enthusiastic, with numerous organizations contributing generously, she added.
Contributions include 300 kits from Ganesh Plywood, 125 each from the Rice Millers Associations of Lakhimpur and Gola, 250 from the Plywood Organization of Lakhimpur, 1,000 from NCC Limited Hyderabad, 1,500 from various sugar mills, and 500 kits from M/s Brijmohan Contractor Aligarh, M/s Vaishno Construction – Agra, and M/s Vindhyavasini Traders-Gorakhpur. Additionally, district voluntary organizations have provided 6,200 kits. Each special relief kit costs approximately Rs 450.
District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal reported that the 10,000 special relief kits, valued at Rs 45 lakh, have been generously provided by the corporate sector, voluntary organizations, and entrepreneurs to assist flood-affected individuals. Additionally, the Indian Medical Association’s Lakhimpur unit has contributed around 1,000 tarpaulins for distribution to those affected by the floods.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed district magistrates across flood-affected regions to seek assistance from entrepreneurs and NGOs and distribute government-provided food kits. Following this directive, DM Durga Shakti Nagpal contacted local entrepreneurs and organizations, prompting a strong response. In addition to these kits, efforts are underway to distribute special relief kits and tarpaulins to support flood victims.
