33 UP Gram Pradhans to attend Independence Day celebrations in Delhi

Lucknow, Aug 2025 : In a historic and proud moment for Uttar Pradesh, 33 Gram Pradhans from the state have been invited as special guests to the National Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi on August 15. These village heads will participate in the flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort alongside other inspirational personalities from across the country.

The selected Pradhans represent various districts and have been recognised for their exemplary work in rural development, sanitation, women’s empowerment, digital Panchayat secretariats, and fostering community participation. Their contributions under schemes implemented by the Yogi government have not only transformed their villages but have also redefined rural governance on a national platform.

Several of them have already received accolades and recognition at both the state and national levels. Their
achievements are expected to inspire other Panchayats across the country, opening new pathways for rural development and community-driven progress.

Their presence at the Red Fort is a testament to their dedication and symbolizes the growing strength and relevance of grassroots leadership in shaping India’s future.

Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar described the moment as a matter of great pride for the state. He said, “When village representatives from Uttar Pradesh are being honored at the national level, it highlights the spirit of the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sashakt Gram, Sashakt Rashtra’ and the commitment of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These 33 Pradhans are not just leaders in their villages—they represent the rising power of Panchayati Raj across the entire state.”
