Andhra Pradesh SIPB Clears ₹30,515-Crore Investments; Chandrababu Naidu Pushes Inclusive Industrial Growth
Amaravati, June 2026 : The Andhra Pradesh government took another major step toward accelerating industrial development on Thursday as the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approved investment proposals from 50 companies involving a total outlay of ₹30,515 crore. The projects are expected to generate nearly 29,677 employment opportunities across various sectors in the state.
Chairing the 18th meeting of the SIPB, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stressed that the benefits of industrialisation should not remain confined to large corporations and wealthy entrepreneurs but should reach poor and middle-class families as well.
The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh is witnessing rapid industrial expansion and called for the creation of an inclusive industrial ecosystem that enables ordinary citizens to participate in economic growth through entrepreneurship, employment and innovation.
He urged officials to strengthen support for startups and fully utilise government-backed innovation programmes to attract venture capital funding and encourage the growth of emerging enterprises. According to Naidu, startups and technology-driven businesses will play a crucial role in shaping the state’s future economy.
Highlighting the importance of workforce readiness, the Chief Minister directed the Education Department to align academic curricula with the requirements of future industries. He advocated the introduction of advanced technology-oriented courses, including robotics, artificial intelligence and emerging manufacturing technologies, to ensure students are equipped with skills relevant to the changing industrial landscape.
Naidu also warned that investors who fail to implement approved projects would not be tolerated. He instructed officials to closely monitor investment commitments and ensure that projects move from approval to execution within stipulated timelines.
A major focus of the meeting was on renewable energy and future-oriented industries. The Chief Minister noted that the Central Government’s target of achieving 40 per cent ethanol blending presents significant opportunities for Andhra Pradesh. He said expanding ethanol production would not only support farmers by creating additional markets for agricultural produce but would also help reduce India’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.
The Chief Minister called for greater emphasis on sectors such as biofuels, semiconductor manufacturing, lithium-ion battery production, fast-charging electric vehicle battery technologies, data centres and renewable energy projects. He identified solar power, wind energy, pumped storage projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as critical areas for future investment.
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh must prepare for rising electricity demand and build robust infrastructure capable of supporting industrial growth while advancing the state’s ambitious goal of generating 160 gigawatts of green energy.
To support the agricultural sector, he directed officials to establish a Micro-Irrigation Equipment Park in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative is expected to encourage local manufacturing of irrigation equipment, reduce costs for farmers and promote the expansion of horticulture and floriculture activities.
The Chief Minister also advocated the adoption of an automated approval mechanism for industrial projects and land allocations. He said transparent, technology-driven systems would reduce delays, minimise political interference and ensure that projects complying with regulations receive timely approvals.
Naidu further outlined his vision for developing a comprehensive ecosystem around the proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati. The initiative would include technology parks, research centres, quantum application development facilities and manufacturing units for quantum computing equipment, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for advanced technologies.
Discussing the state’s growing automobile sector, the Chief Minister pointed to the presence of manufacturers such as Royal Enfield, Isuzu Motors, Hero MotoCorp and Kia Corporation as evidence of Andhra Pradesh’s increasing attractiveness as a manufacturing destination.
He also stressed the need to expedite plans for a fifth-generation fighter aircraft manufacturing and testing facility at Puttaparthi. Naidu envisioned the Bengaluru–Puttaparthi belt emerging as a major defence and aerospace corridor capable of attracting significant domestic and international investments.
The Chief Minister additionally instructed officials to fast-track hotel and resort projects across the state to boost tourism and encourage visitors to extend their stay, thereby contributing to local economic activity.
State Minister Nara Lokesh supported the emphasis on accountability, stating that government incentives and concessions should be released only after industries become operational. He observed that functioning industries generate revenue through GST and other taxes, making incentive support more productive and sustainable.
Lokesh also revealed that Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnic colleges are being mapped to local industrial clusters to improve skill development and employment outcomes. He announced plans to establish a Centre of Excellence for Rare Earth Minerals research at Andhra University and cited Russia’s achievements in quantum technology as a model worth studying.
The meeting was attended by ministers, senior government officials and Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, who reviewed the approved investment proposals and discussed strategies for accelerating industrial growth across the state.
The approvals underscore Andhra Pradesh’s continued efforts to position itself as a leading investment destination while ensuring that industrial progress translates into employment generation, technological advancement and broader economic benefits for its citizens.
