Active Participation of Villagers Essential in the Digital Initiatives of Satnavri, the First Smart Intelligent Village – Vijayalakshmi Bidari

Nagpur, Aug 2025 : Satnavri, selected as the country’s first smart intelligent village, has launched various digital initiatives through the Voice of India Communication Technology organization. Since these digital-based facilities will directly benefit the holistic development of the village, Divisional Commissioner Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Bidari urged the villagers to actively participate in the initiative.

Mrs. Bidari visited Satnavri, which was chosen as a smart intelligent village, and reviewed the work initiated by fifteen companies associated with the Voice organization. Present at the event were CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, Special Officer for the Intelligent Village concept Ramesh Bhatnagar, Satnavri Sarpanch Mrs. Vaishali Vijay Chaudhary, Deputy Sarpanch Anil Rambhau Gotmare, Sub-Divisional Officer Mrs. Vandana Sarangpate, Deputy CEO Kapil Kalode, and others.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Satnavri—with optical fiber connectivity—was selected for development as the nation’s smart intelligent village. Under the Make in India initiative, fifteen companies will create facilities in the village using internet and Wi-Fi services. As part of the pilot project, initiatives in agriculture, health, education, and public services will make it easier for villagers to access government schemes at the grassroots level. Mrs. Bidari emphasized that companies must take responsibility for training villagers on implementation.

Through mobile connectivity, various digital programs will be implemented here. Satnavri will now be connected to the world. Agriculture has been given priority—sensors installed in fields provide all necessary information from sowing to harvesting, including access to markets, crop planning, and related facilities, all available on a digital dashboard. This data helps farmers plan their cropping patterns more effectively. The Divisional Commissioner inspected this system firsthand.

Under the Intelligent Village initiative, the village now has an e-skill center, mobile health connectivity, health cards, and telemedicine services. Expert doctors from the Government Medical College will participate to provide healthcare services to villagers. Schools and anganwadis have received smart ECCE video learning books, AI-based remote classrooms, and digital anganwadi centers. Computerization will speed up gram panchayat work, and Wi-Fi will improve connectivity with towns and cities. Dashboards will display the quality of drinking water and data on water parameters required for fish farming in local ponds. Since all these initiatives benefit the villagers, Mrs. Bidari instructed that training be organized to ensure every citizen understands each project.

Chief Minister to Visit
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will visit Satnavri to review the smart digital initiatives and directly interact with beneficiaries about their usefulness and the changes they have brought.

At the outset, Sarpanch Mrs. Vaishali Chaudhary welcomed the guests. At the gram panchayat office, companies associated with the Voice organization presented information about ongoing telecom-based projects in the intelligent village and their implementation process. Discussions were also held about the impact of these initiatives on rural development and changes in villagers’ lifestyles.

CEO Vinayak Mahamuni suggested organizing training sessions to inform the public about the various pilot projects and establishing a process for continued utilization of these facilities. Project Head and Government of India Special Officer Ramesh Bhatnagar provided details about the project’s execution, company participation, working methods, and tangible benefits.
