Install ‘Signal Systems’ at Key Locations in Baramati City – Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

Baramati, Aug 2025 : To ensure smooth and safe public transportation, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district, Ajit Pawar, directed that ‘signal systems’ be installed at ten major locations in the city. He also instructed that important intersections be named, road encroachments be removed, and streets be made free of obstructions.

Pawar inspected ongoing development works in the Teen Hatti Chowk area, Dhwajstambh, Gunawadi Chowk Shopping Complex, and the Water Resources Department’s staff housing, and reviewed progress with officials.

He stated that a 30-meter-high national flagpole is being installed in the premises of Natraj Natya Kala Mandal and should be completed promptly. A Martyrs’ Memorial will be built on land next to the Municipal Council office, incorporating key events from the freedom struggle, and proper lighting should be ensured in the area. Clear nameplates should be installed on all municipal-owned buildings, and necessary works on service roads should be completed.

He further directed that fully equipped housing be built for Water Resources Department staff. Considering the heavy foot traffic, works like tiling, painting, and road improvements at the Gunawadi Chowk commercial complex should be expedited.

Statues of eminent personalities will be installed on the site opposite the upcoming Central Park, and a revised site plan should be submitted. The Baramati bus stand area should be kept clean, and more shade-giving trees should be planted in the surroundings.

Pawar emphasized that all ongoing development projects in the taluka should be of high quality, durable, and completed quickly. He said that administrative instructions have been given for smooth traffic flow and urged citizens to strictly follow traffic safety rules.

Present on the occasion were Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Biradar, Sub-Divisional Officer Vaibhav Navadkar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr. Sudarshan Rathod, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Amol Pawar, Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department Digambar Dubal, Tehsildar Ganesh Shinde, Chief Officer Pankaj Bhuse, Baramati Cooperative Bank Chairman Sachin Satav, former senior corporator Kiran Gujar, and others.
