Monsoon Session to Witness 24-Hour Discussion on Uttar Pradesh’s 25-Year Vision: CM Yogi

Lucknow, Aug 2025 : Ahead of the 2025 Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday addressed the media, highlighting the significance of the session, the government’s development plans, and the vision for a “Developed Uttar Pradesh.” He said that the session, taking place in the third year of the ‘Amrit Kaal’ of independence, would mark an important step in the state’s development journey. This year’s Monsoon Session is especially important as the government will present its 25-year action plan before the House.

The CM announced that on August 13 and 14, there will be a continuous 24-hour discussion in the Assembly on this vision. Prepared with inputs from NITI Aayog, experts, and participation from all sections of society, the document aims to align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a self-reliant and developed India. He said an all-party meeting had agreed to this marathon discussion, and public opinion will also be incorporated. By 2047, when India becomes a developed nation, Uttar Pradesh too will stand as a developed state, he asserted.

CM Yogi said the government is fully prepared to answer all questions raised during the Question Hour and discuss important matters in Zero Hour. He appealed to all parties to hold meaningful, constructive debates and avoid negativity or disruptions, assuring that all proposals brought to the House would be respected.

The CM noted that the session will also focus on seasonal challenges like floods and waterlogging, as well as key areas such as health, education, infrastructure, welfare of the poor, and overall social upliftment.

Targeting the opposition, especially the Samajwadi Party, Yogi alleged that their agenda revolves around negativity rather than development and reminded that they have opposed extended Assembly proceedings in the past, using unparliamentary language.

Calling the Uttar Pradesh Legislature the largest in the country, the CM said that its discussions set an example for the nation. Welcoming all legislators from across the state, he wished for the success of the session and said it would be a significant milestone towards the state’s progress and prosperity.
