Governor Honors ‘Cleanliness Warriors,’ Shares Meal with Sanitation Workers
Jaipur, Aug 2025 – Governor Haribhau Bagde on Tuesday felicitated sanitation workers at an event organized by Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation under the Swachhata Yoddha (Cleanliness Warrior) initiative. He urged those working in the cleanliness drive to educate their children well, noting that education opens the door to life’s opportunities. The Governor interacted with sanitation workers and shared a meal with them.
Bagde highlighted that due to the efforts of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation, the city’s cleanliness ranking has improved significantly—from 173rd to 16th place—calling it a remarkable achievement.
He recalled that the Government of India launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2014, with the aim of making India clean, healthy, and free from open defecation. He stressed that even small contributions from society can lead to major changes. Commending the tireless efforts of cleanliness workers in keeping streets, villages, and cities clean, he also called for the launch of a similar “Har Ghar Tiranga” (Flag in Every Home) campaign.
