Health Minister Pi Lalrinpuii Inaugurates ‘Haemodialysis Centre’ At District Hospital, Siaha

Siaha, Aug 2025: Today, after officiating as the Chief Guest for the grand nationwide celebration of India’s Independence Day at SDFA Ground, Meisatla, Siaha, and attending the VIPs At Home hosted by the MADC CEM, Health Minister Pi Lalrinpuii went on to inaugurate the Haemodialysis Centre at the District Hospital, Siaha.

The inauguration programme at the District Hospital was chaired by the District Medical Superintendent (DMS), Dr. C. Lalrosanga. Expressing her gratitude, the Minister remarked that it was a significant milestone that the long-awaited Dialysis Centre, with four functional units, had finally been opened.

Minister Pi Lalrinpuii noted that the demand for dialysis facilities in Mizoram was growing rapidly and that such specialised medical care was extremely important. She appreciated the thoughtfulness and dedication of those who worked to successfully establish the Haemodialysis Unit. She expressed her hope that this facility would bring great relief and improved health to the residents of Siaha district who require such treatment, and she urged the medical staff to continue providing both physical and mental healing for patients.

After the inauguration of the Haemodialysis Centre, the Minister visited the District Hospital’s ICU, which has three beds, and encouraged the staff to provide uninterrupted critical care for patients in need.

The newly opened Haemodialysis Centre was funded by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Fairfax CSR for the dialysis equipment, while an RO plant worth ₹15 lakh was provided under the National Health Mission (NHM). Plumbing, wiring, and other interior works were also funded by NHM, and the four dialysis units themselves were procured through DHME funds.

On the same day, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, and Women & Child Development Minister Pi Lalrinpuii also visited the CDPO Office in Tipa for its inauguration. She then returned to Siaha, from where she will travel back to Aizawl tomorrow.
