District Level Committee Meeting on Myanmar & Bangladesh Refugees Held in Mamit

Mamit : A meeting of the District Level Committee on Myanmar and Bangladesh Refugees was held today at the DC Conference Hall, Mamit, under the chairmanship of Pu K. Laltlawmlova, Deputy Commissioner.

During the meeting, Pu Lalawmpuia, SDC, gave a detailed briefing on the Foreign Identification Portal and provided an update on the number of refugees from Myanmar currently residing in various locations within Mamit district.

The committee discussed the need to verify the number of refugees from Myanmar through biometric enrolment, and it was resolved that two separate teams would be formed for this purpose. In collaboration with the Young Mizo Association (YMA), awareness campaigns will be conducted prior to the enrolment to ensure the process runs smoothly.
