Revanth Reddy Alleges BJP-BRS Conspiracy to Remove Congress Supporters from Voter Rolls in Kodangal

Hyderabad, July 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to delete the names of voters belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and minority communities during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He also alleged that the BJP and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) were jointly targeting Congress supporters in his Kodangal Assembly constituency.

Addressing a meeting of Congress Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in Kodangal, the Chief Minister claimed that the BJP and BRS had hatched a political conspiracy to weaken his support base by seeking the deletion of a large number of votes belonging to Congress sympathisers.

Revanth Reddy alleged that although the BJP and BRS function as separate political parties, they were effectively working together against the Congress.

“They may have different names, but they are two sides of the same coin. Their objective is to weaken the Congress and target Kodangal because they know this constituency is my political stronghold,” he said.

The Chief Minister claimed that the Opposition parties had resorted to indirect tactics after failing to challenge him politically. According to him, the alleged attempt to remove voters’ names from the electoral rolls was aimed at undermining his influence in Kodangal and, in turn, weakening his leadership across Telangana.

Warning party workers to remain vigilant, Revanth Reddy urged Congress Booth Level Agents to ensure that every eligible voter completed the verification process under the Special Intensive Revision before the stipulated deadline.

He revealed that out of the total electorate in Kodangal Assembly constituency, 1,96,620 voters had already submitted their SIR applications, while 54,635 voters were yet to complete the process. He noted that nearly 22 per cent of eligible voters still remained outside the updated electoral rolls.

Expressing concern over the pending registrations, the Chief Minister instructed party workers to intensify their outreach efforts by conducting door-to-door campaigns and assisting residents in completing voter verification formalities.

“Losing one’s vote means losing one’s identity. Every eligible citizen must protect this democratic right,” Revanth Reddy said while emphasising the importance of ensuring that no genuine voter is left out of the electoral rolls.

He directed Congress BLAs to achieve 100 per cent voter enrollment by July 30, several days ahead of the August 3 deadline fixed for the Special Intensive Revision exercise. He stressed that every Congress worker should treat voter registration as a top priority to prevent any eligible elector from being excluded.

The Chief Minister also thanked the people of Kodangal for their continued support, saying their trust and blessings had enabled him to become the Chief Minister of Telangana. He called upon party workers to remain united and committed to safeguarding the voting rights of every eligible citizen while strengthening the Congress organisation at the grassroots level.
