Tejashwi Yadav Declares Rahul Gandhi as PM Face, Vows to Oust NDA in Next Elections

Patna, Aug 2025 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday gave a strong endorsement of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, calling him his “bade bhai” (elder brother) and declaring him as the prime ministerial face of the opposition. Speaking during the ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, Tejashwi pledged that the Mahagathbandhan alliance — comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties — would work to make Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister of India.

Addressing a spirited roadshow in Nawada district, Tejashwi said, “Whenever the next Lok Sabha elections are held, we will dislodge the NDA government from power and will work to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.” His remarks were met with thunderous applause and chants from supporters, highlighting the alliance’s growing momentum on the ground.

The Voter Adhikar Yatra, jointly launched by Tejashwi and Rahul from Sasaram, will cover more than 1,300 km across Bihar. The campaign aims to mobilize public support ahead of the state Assembly polls while also projecting the INDIA bloc’s national vision. The camaraderie between the two leaders has been a highlight of the yatra. In one viral image, Tejashwi was seen driving a jeep with Rahul seated beside him, waving enthusiastically to the cheering crowds.

While making his poll pitch, Tejashwi launched sharp attacks on both the Narendra Modi-led Centre and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s state government. He accused them of tampering with electoral rolls and attempting to “snatch away people’s right to vote.” According to him, many genuine voters have been wrongly deleted from the electoral list, while others who participated in recent elections were inexplicably marked as “deceased.”

“BJP is denying people their constitutional right to vote in connivance with the Election Commission,” Tejashwi alleged, crediting Rahul Gandhi for exposing what he called widespread corruption and voter fraud in Bihar’s electoral process.

Turning his fire on Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi described the Chief Minister as being in an “unconscious state” and accused him of running an “inefficient and ineffective government.” He argued that the Bihar administration has neither a vision nor a framework for governance and instead copies promises made earlier by the Mahagathbandhan.

“We had promised free electricity, enhanced pensions, and the creation of a youth commission. The government has only begun copying these promises at the last minute to mislead the public,” he charged.

Tejashwi emphasized that the INDIA bloc represents the true aspirations of Bihar and the nation. With its mix of experienced and young leaders, he said, the alliance has both the vision and mission to chart a new course for the state.

“It is the INDIA bloc that will shape the future of Bihar. We are here with young leadership, fresh ideas, and the determination to deliver on people’s dreams,” he declared, underscoring the coalition’s bid to challenge the ruling NDA both in Bihar and at the national level.
