Budget to Provide Relief to Students Pursuing Higher Education – Minister Chandrakant Patil
Mumbai : Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term today. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil praised the budget for its remarkable decision to provide loans of up to ₹10 lakh to increase the number of students pursuing higher education in the country.
The central government has announced loans of up to ₹10 lakh for students who are not eligible for existing government schemes for higher education in domestic institutions. Additionally, e-vouchers will be provided directly to one lakh students each year to support their educational pursuits.
The budget also includes the implementation of the National Research Fund for Basic Research and Model Development and the establishment of a ₹1 lakh crore fund to promote innovation. Minister Patil expressed that today’s budget is a significant step towards empowering the education system and providing new directions for higher education.
