BSF, Coast Guard Nab 15 Pakistani Fishermen in Kori Creek
Bhuj, Aug 2025 — In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Coast Guard apprehended 15 Pakistani fishermen with an engine-fitted country boat while they were fishing illegally in Indian waters near Kori Creek in Kutch.
Acting on intelligence inputs from the BSF’s 68 Battalion, a coordinated search was launched Saturday around Border Outpost (BOP) BBK, close to the India–Pakistan maritime boundary. The operation was led by Ashok Kumar, 2IC (Ops), along with officers from the 176 and 68 Battalions and Coast Guard units, including vessel FAC Prahar and patrol boats from FBOP Mukkunala and FBOP Devri Nala.
Following an extensive search of adjoining mudflats, 15 Pakistani nationals, all residents of Jaati village in Sindh’s Sujawal district, were detained. The men, aged between 20 and 50, were found with a country-made boat, 60 kg of fish, nine large fishing nets, and provisions such as food grains, fuel, and ice — indicating preparations for an extended stay at sea. A mobile phone with Pakistani SIMs, currency, and other items were also seized.
Officials said the operation underscores India’s heightened vigilance to secure its maritime borders and curb illegal fishing activities.
