“Services Available Through ‘Aaple Sarkar’ Portal Should Now Also Be Provided via WhatsApp” – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Aug 2025: The state government provides various services to citizens through different departments. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that all services on the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal should also be provided via WhatsApp. Additionally, to ensure that all services are provided appropriately and based on need, a ring should be established in all talukas. This directive was given during a review meeting regarding citizen services held at Varsha, the Chief Minister’s residence.

Instructing to consolidate nine similar services from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that regular verification should be conducted by a third-party institution to ensure the quality of service delivery. He also emphasized the need to plan for significantly reducing the number of documents required in the application process. The dashboards of all district councils, municipal corporations, and universities should be uniform to provide a cohesive experience to citizens throughout the state. The ring and cluster system should be implemented for the effective execution of these services, with 10 to 12 villages from the respective taluk included initially, providing services as needed. A separate group and management team should be established for the management of this ring. The Chief Minister also directed the use of the Dish Digital Services Hub for service delivery.

Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar instructed the provision for an appeal facility in service delivery and the use of a multi-modal system (such as email, portal, WhatsApp) for the distribution of certificates.

Currently, the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal is working on providing 1,001 services across the state, of which 997 have been made available on all portals. In the last fifteen days, there has been an increase of 236 services available on the portal.

Present at the meeting were Commissioner of the State Service Rights Commission Manukumar Srivastava, Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Bhushan Gagriani, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) Rajgopal Devra, Principal Secretary of the Social Justice Department Dr. Harshdeep Kambale, Principal Secretary of the IT Department Parag Jain Nainutia, and Managing Director of Maha IT Sanjay Katkar, among others.
