Minister of State for Forests Reviews Development Works in Alwar
Calls for Ensuring Not Just Plantation but Protection Too — Directs Timely and Quality Implementation of Budget Announcements and Development Works
Aug 2025 : Minister of State for Forests and Environment (Independent Charge), Shri Sanjay Sharma, on Wednesday chaired a review meeting at the Alwar Collectorate Auditorium. The meeting focused on the implementation of budget announcements, progress of development works, schemes, and departmental activities of the Forest and Environment Department in the district. He issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.
Praising the record plantation drives carried out across Rajasthan, including in Alwar district, under the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign, Shri Sharma said the campaign is being personally monitored by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma. Therefore, all officials must ensure that every sapling planted survives. In case of mortality, new saplings must be planted in their place. Photos of all planted saplings must be uploaded on the Hariyalo Rajasthan app. He further instructed that every department—especially the Education Department—prepare a dedicated mechanism for protection and maintenance of these plantations.
New Lavkush Garden Proposal, Review of Biological Park and Other Projects
The Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, effective monitoring has revitalized Sariska, now home to 48 tigers and 269 leopards. He directed officials to complete the DPR for the proposed Biological Park at Kati Ghati by 30 September and to ensure timely and quality completion of other budget announcements such as EV bus operations, anti-poaching infrastructure, grassland development, and strengthening of the wireless system.
The DFO, Alwar, was instructed to prepare a proposal for a new Lavkush Vatika (garden) in forest areas near Alwar city, featuring beautification works, wildlife motifs, and religious artwork. He also directed development of Zindoli Valley and Bala Quila as “Valleys of Flowers” through plantation drives and ordered removal of encroachments around Zindoli Valley. Appreciating the green belt developed in Angari, Thanagazi through plantations, he stressed on strict monitoring to free forest lands from encroachment and to completely curb illegal mining activities.
Pollution Control and Industrial Waste Management
The Minister directed the Regional Officer of the Pollution Control Board to take strict action against polluting units in accordance with norms and ensure that industries properly dispose of their waste, thereby protecting the environment and maintaining a clean atmosphere.
Thorough Review of Budget Announcements and District Development Works
While reviewing in detail the progress of budget announcements and development projects, Shri Sharma instructed that each department must complete their works within stipulated timelines with quality to ensure that citizens receive the benefits at the earliest. Special emphasis was placed on projects such as the Digital Planetarium, Silisedh Drinking Water Scheme, water supply projects in urban colonies, road construction in approved colonies on agricultural lands near the city, sewerage line construction, upgradation of the children’s hospital, Yuvam (youth development), Early Warning System, and the construction of a new bus stand. He sought progress reports and directed officials to expedite work completion.
Directing the Superintendent Engineer of the Water Supply Department, Shri Sharma said that all 36 tube wells sanctioned under MLA funds, along with others approved from different heads, must be fully operational within the next 15 days. He stressed the need for coordination to speed up the Silisedh Drinking Water Scheme.
Timely Completion of Jal Jeevan Mission Works and Road Repairs
Reviewing the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Minister instructed officials to ensure time-bound completion of all ongoing works and to guarantee quality repair of roads cut during implementation. He further directed that officials act upon suggestions made by public representatives in the meeting as per rules.
Commitment to Daily Plantation Drive
At the Mini Secretariat premises, Shri Sharma inspected plantations carried out through community participation under the Miyawaki method and appreciated the efforts. He also planted a sapling there as part of his personal pledge to plant a tree daily, sending out a message of environmental conservation.
The meeting was attended by Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Rajeev Chaturvedi, District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla, Superintendent of Police Shri Sudhir Chaudhary, and other concerned officials.
