Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Urges Entrepreneurs to Turn Challenges into Opportunities, Assures Continuous Support to Industries

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that trade and industry are the main pillars of Rajasthan’s economy. Rajasthan’s gems & jewelry, textiles, handicrafts, leather goods, and other products hold a unique identity in global markets. He noted that the recent 50% tariff imposed by the United States on Indian exports has also affected the state’s trade and industry, but stressed that this challenge must be turned into an opportunity through determination and effort.

Addressing a meeting with entrepreneurs and traders from the gems & jewelry, textiles, leather, and handicraft sectors at the Chief Minister’s Office on Friday, Shri Sharma urged business leaders to explore alternative international markets for their products and also expand their reach within domestic markets across other Indian states. He called on entrepreneurs to share suggestions with the state government, based on their experience, regarding areas where the central government’s support could be sought.

Key Trade Agreements by the Centre:
The Chief Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the central government has been actively addressing the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and traders. He pointed out that India has signed important trade agreements with countries like Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, opening up new opportunities for Indian exporters.

State Policies Supporting Industries:
Shri Sharma said that the state government is consistently working to promote industries through new policies. The Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme-2024 has been implemented, offering benefits like thrust boosters, interest subsidies, freight subsidies, and incentives for power-intensive industries. Similarly, under the Rajasthan Export Promotion Policy-2024, economic support is being provided in the form of freight subsidies, marketing assistance, export documentation aid, product testing, technology acquisition schemes, e-commerce support, and ECGC reimbursement.

He assured that the state government stands firmly with entrepreneurs during the current circumstances and will extend full support to enhance their exports.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Finance and Industries Departments, along with representatives from the gems & jewelry, textile, leather, and handicraft sectors.
