Message of Fit India resonates from the land of Mewar – Enthusiasm surges in Cyclothon and Marathon
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : On the occasion of National Sports Day, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, a Cyclothon and Marathon was organized on Sunday from the Fatehsagar Pal in Udaipur as part of the ongoing Fit India Movement. On this occasion, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Industry & Commerce, Olympic medalist Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, was present as the chief guest. Along with him, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Chunnilal Garasia and Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat also attended as guests.

Sports Minister Rathore arrived at the venue riding a bicycle and encouraged the participants. The Cyclothon and Marathon were flagged off from Motimangri Gate. The Minister himself cycled throughout the route, joining the athletes. The Cyclothon covered a distance of 3.50 km from Fatehsagar Pal, UDA Circle, Saheliyon Ki Bari up to Taya Palace, while the Marathon started from Motimangri and concluded at Taya Palace.
At the closing ceremony organized at Taya Palace, the Sports Minister said that to remain healthy and happy, one must take initiative oneself. He urged the youth and participants to take good decisions daily, stay with positive people, and make sports a part of their routine. During the program, a demonstration of kayaking and canoeing in Fatehsagar Lake was also held, in which national and international level players participated. Minister Rathore himself rowed in a dragon boat and boosted the morale of the players. He also interacted with children doing skating and encouraged them.
On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kewalramani, District Collector Shri Namit Mehta, UDA Commissioner Shri Rahul Jain, District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, along with many public representatives and officials, were present. Additional District Collector (Administration) Shri Dipendra Singh Rathore, Udaipur Rifle Association President Veermadeo Singh, differently-abled cyclist Govind, students from various universities and schools, sports coaches, sports associations, and social organizations actively participated.
MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat on this occasion also shared details of the upcoming Sansad Khel Mahotsav, to be held from September 21 to December 25, and appealed for maximum participation. The program was conducted by Dr. Devilal Garg.
