Access Audit Conducted

Sept 2025 : According to the provisions of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Accessible India Campaign is of great importance. To ensure that public buildings are accessible and barrier-free for wheelchair users, persons with visual impairment, and others with disabilities, mandatory guidelines have been issued. In order to monitor and implement this, audit teams regularly conduct inspections of various locations along with persons with disabilities.

On September 2, 2025, the Office of the Mizoram State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, together with the Audit Team, carried out an Access Audit at PM Shri MICE School Tuikual, Government Mizo High School, and Government Mizo Higher Secondary School Chanmari.

This programme has already been implemented in seven districts of Mizoram, and the aim is to cover the entire state by conducting similar accessibility assessments across all districts.
