Complete the Process to Start Chipi–Mumbai Air Service Immediately – Minister of Fisheries and Ports Nitesh Rane

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : The process to start the Mumbai–Chipi air service must be completed at the earliest. The state government is positive about launching this service and has already decided to provide RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) funding on the lines of UDAN. Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane has directed the concerned authorities to expedite the process.

A meeting regarding the Mumbai–Chipi air service was held at Mantralaya, during which Minister Rane addressed the gathering. Representatives of the Airport Authority and the airport operator company were present.

Calling the commencement of the Mumbai–Chipi air service an emotional matter for Sindhudurg, Minister Rane said that the necessary infrastructure for the airport should also be completed quickly. He stressed that since Sindhudurg is a tourism district, Chipi Airport holds special significance.

The Minister further instructed that all required permissions for starting the Mumbai–Chipi air service must be obtained within a month. He urged the Airport Authority and the airport operator company to work in coordination. Emphasizing the airport’s growing importance in the future, Rane said that related works must be carried out on a priority basis.
