Lawngtlai DC Donny Lalruatsanga Meets with Lawngtlai District MJA Members, Shares Insights

Lawngtlai, Sept 2025:Deputy Commissioner Pu Donny Lalruatsanga today met with members of the Lawngtlai District MJA (Mizo Journalists’ Association) at Thingpui Conference Hall and exchanged views.

Addressing the journalists, the DC said that while the government cannot achieve everything on its own, the cooperation of the media is vital in promoting district development. He urged the MJA members to play a proactive role in fact-checking, spreading accurate information, and providing constructive criticism whenever necessary.

The Lawngtlai District MJA members, led by their President Pu Elvis Lalthangzuala, told the DC that they have always worked with dedication to uphold the importance of journalism and to represent the voices of the people.

Journalists also raised concerns that due to Lawngtlai town’s close proximity to the international border, there are frequent challenges and risks. They expressed that the government should take these factors seriously and strengthen border security, as Myanmar nationals often cross into Lawngtlai town at night through hidden routes, creating difficulties. They noted that ensuring peace and stability in the area is crucial.

DC Donny Lalruatsanga assured the MJA members that he would continue to extend support to their work and maintain close cooperation with them.
