‘Delhi Laxmi Yojana’ to be launched on August 1, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to inaugurate online portal

Online applications for eligible women to begin, government aims to release first instalment by Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi, July 2026 : The Delhi Government will formally launch its flagship ‘Delhi Laxmi Yojana’ on Saturday, August 1. Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta will inaugurate the Delhi Laxmi Yojana portal at a special programme scheduled for 11 am at the District Magistrate (East) Office in Geeta Colony. With the launch of the portal, online applications for the scheme will also open.

During the programme, the Chief Minister will personally register a few eligible women, marking the beginning of the application process. Applications from other eligible beneficiaries will thereafter be accepted through the online portal. The Delhi Government aims to complete the verification of all eligible applications in a time-bound manner so that the first instalment can be released by Raksha Bandhan.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Delhi Government has now fulfilled one of its key promises made to women. She said the Delhi Laxmi Yojana is designed to strengthen women’s dignity, financial security and self-reliance. She appealed to all eligible women to apply for the scheme and avail its benefits.

Under the scheme, eligible women will receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month. The Delhi Government has earmarked ₹5,110 crore for the scheme in the 2026-27 Budget, and it is expected to benefit more than 17 lakh women. The entire application process has been made online and transparent to ensure that eligible women receive the benefits promptly and smoothly.
