Cleanliness Opens the Door to Prosperity: CM Dr. Yadav

Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that cleanliness brings prosperity. He said that cleanliness has been a part of India’s traditions, daily routine and values for centuries, but over time it was neglected. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi revived these habits and values, transforming cleanliness into a mass movement. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing an event organised under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign in Indore on Thursday, where sanitation workers were honored, and a community meal was held with them. He praised Indore for achieving the first rank in cleanliness for eight consecutive years, creating a national record. He said that all 3.6 million citizens of Indore, especially the sanitation workers, deserve congratulations for this achievement. He said that Indore has earned global recognition for cleanliness due to teamwork, active citizen participation, and the tireless efforts of sanitation workers.

On this occasion, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Golu Shukla, Smt. Malini Gaud, Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Madhu Verma, and Ms. Usha Thakur, Chairman of SC Finance & Development Corporation, Shri Sawan Sonkar, Chairman of Sanitation Workers Commission, Shri Pratap Karosiya, Shri Sumit Mishra, Shri Shravan Chawda, former MLA Shri Jeetu Jirati, former Mayor Shri Krishna Murari Moghe and a large number of citizens were present.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored the sanitation workers and shared a meal with them. He appreciated their contribution in keeping Indore at the top of cleanliness rankings for eight years, highlighting their hard work, dedication, and service spirit. He said that sanitation workers truly deserve respect for their efforts in taking Indore to new heights.

On this occasion, CM Dr. Yadav also unveiled the ‘Swachhata Ka Mahaguru’ logo. He felicitated councilors for their outstanding contributions to cleanliness. He also inaugurated the country’s first ‘Zero Waste Zoo’ in Indore.

CM Inaugurates and Takes Ride in New Electric AC Bus

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated 50 new electric AC buses in Indore, launched with an investment of ₹60 crore to strengthen the city’s public transport system. In total, Indore will receive 150 new electric buses, of which 50 have been rolled out in this phase. These buses will be equipped with a digital payment system. CM Dr. Yadav also launched the digital payment facility on the occasion.

The Chief Minister boarded one of the buses and inspected passenger safety arrangements, including the public announcement system, GPS, CCTV, panic buttons, and other features. He said that road, air, and rail connectivity in Indore is expanding rapidly, boosting the city’s linkages across the country.

Bhoomi Poojan for Redevelopment of Ranjeet Hanuman Temple

CM Dr. Yadav also virtually performed the foundation ceremony, amid Vedic chants, for the redevelopment of the famous Shri Ranjeet Hanuman Temple in Indore. He said the temple, being ancient and spiritually significant, inspires devotees to achieve victory in every field. A presentation on the redevelopment plan was shown during the event. The ₹7 crore redevelopment project will feature a grand gateway, shaded areas, boundary wall, pathways, and gardens, while preserving the temple’s original structure. The initiative aims to beautify the temple premises, provide enhanced facilities for devotees and promote religious tourism.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat said that Indore has achieved global recognition for cleanliness by securing India’s top rank eight times consecutively. He added that under the leadership of CM Dr. Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is swiftly realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision. Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav spoke about Indore’s development journey, noting that the city’s growth is being planned with a vision for 2050. He said that Indore is witnessing holistic development marked by innovations in cleanliness and rapid strides in digital initiatives.

The event was attended by MLAs, the Chairman of the Municipal Corporation, members of the Mayor-in-Council, corporators, a large number of sanitation workers, representatives of related organizations and citizens.
