Animal Husbandry Minister Urges Rapid Assessment of Rain-Affected Crops, Visits Pali District

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Animal Husbandry Minister and local MLA, Mr. Joraram Kumawat, visited the Sumerpur Assembly area in Pali district on Friday to assess the extensive damage caused by recent heavy rainfall. He inspected rain-affected villages including Birami, Badli, and Naukra Bera, and interacted with local residents. The minister inquired about the distribution of rations and availability of medical facilities.

With water levels in dams rising steadily, the minister directed Irrigation Department officials to closely monitor the situation. Standing water in fields has caused crops to yellow, affecting production. Tehsildars and patwaris were instructed to conduct rapid surveys of crop damage and prepare reports at the earliest. PWD officials were ordered to assess damaged roads and carry out necessary repairs, while village councils were advised to monitor overflowing ponds to prevent any untoward incidents. During the visit, Mr. Kumawat also communicated with the Pali District Collector via phone, providing essential instructions.

Meeting with officials at Municipal Hall
Mr. Kumawat convened a meeting of officials at the municipal hall to discuss rainfall-related damage. He directed that proposals for repairing damaged buildings and roads be prepared and sent to the state government. He also instructed that proper arrangements be made for drainage of waterlogged areas.

During the meeting, Tehsildar Dinesh Acharya briefed the minister on relief measures and ongoing efforts for affected people. He noted that patwaris are conducting surveys to assess crop losses and that the disaster relief team is on alert. Adequate arrangements for food, drinking water, clothing, and bedding have been made at shelters. The administration’s priority is to provide immediate relief to affected people, followed by a rapid assessment of losses and prompt compensation.
