Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani Visits Flood-Affected Areas in Ajmer, Assures Relief and Reconstruction of Boraj Lake Embankment

Jaipur, Sep 2025 : After the embankment of Boraj Lake in Ajmer collapsed, causing waterlogging in nearby areas, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani personally visited the flood-affected colonies, farmlands, and localities. Walking nearly one kilometer through waterlogged stretches, he interacted with victims and assured them of immediate relief and assistance.

Devnani said that the embankment of Boraj Lake will be rebuilt, and a survey will soon be conducted to assess damages so that affected families can receive compensation.

Accompanied by District Collector Lokbandhu, Superintendent of Police Vandita Rana, and officials of ADA and the Municipal Corporation, Devnani reviewed the situation in Swastik Nagar and surrounding colonies on Friday. He also inspected the ongoing relief and rescue operations, directing officials to ensure maximum vigilance and efficiency.

He noted that due to timely action by the district administration, a major tragedy was averted. Residents had been evacuated before the embankment gave way, preventing any loss of human or animal life. Those displaced have been shifted to nearby government schools designated as shelters, where arrangements for food, water, medicines, and accommodation have been made.

Devnani instructed officials to conduct a detailed survey of losses, ensure adequate drainage arrangements, and plan for the reconstruction of the embankment to prevent future flooding. He assured that the government will provide compensation and necessary assistance to all affected families in accordance with rules.
