CM Dhami: Public Health Will Not Be Compromised Under Any Circumstances

Dehradun, Sept 2025 – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a high-level meeting at his residence, directed officials that any compromise with public health will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister instructed district magistrates, police, and the health department to jointly launch an intensive campaign to completely eliminate the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit medicines in the state. He stressed that strictest action must be taken against those involved in the fake drug trade, and their entire network must be dismantled.

Dhami also said that addressing the problems of families affected by the Dharali disaster, along with their rehabilitation, relief, and livelihood arrangements, remains the government’s top priority. He directed that the committee formed under the chairmanship of the Revenue Secretary submit its report at the earliest. After receiving the report, large-scale rehabilitation and relief works will also be carried out in other disaster-affected areas of the state.

The Chief Minister further instructed that a statewide “Swadeshi Campaign” be launched, describing it as an important step towards building a self-reliant India. He appealed to ministers, administrative officials, and employees to promote indigenous products, and directed that priority be given to domestic goods and equipment in government procurement. He also asked that maximum use of local products be ensured in government programs and events. He added that recent changes in GST slabs will further encourage the use of indigenous products.

Dhami also emphasized proper training for Agniveers of the state and directed that special training programs be organized from time to time at the Police Training Center.

He reiterated that the government is fully committed to fulfilling the promises made to the people in its vision document and directed officials to work with greater speed to deliver on all public-interest commitments. He said the government is working with firm resolve, keeping in mind public sentiment and aspirations.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, Secretary and Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari.
