Women and Child Development Minister Rajwade Attends Karma Tihar Festival in Sambalpur

Raipur, Sept 2025 – The vibrant Karma Tihar festival, deeply rooted in Chhattisgarh’s rich folk traditions and community spirit, was celebrated with joy and cultural fervor in Sambalpur village panchayat of Surajpur district. On this occasion, the state’s Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister, Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, attended as the chief guest.

Mrs. Rajwade joined the local residents in enjoying the traditional songs and dances of the Karma festival and extended her greetings to the villagers. She said that Karma Tihar is a festival of brotherhood, collectiveness, and the culture of labor, symbolizing rural traditions and cultural unity. She encouraged women, youth, and children present at the event to take pride in and preserve their cultural values.

The program featured captivating performances of Karma dance, traditional songs, and folk art by artists from Sambalpur and nearby villages, filling the atmosphere with joy and festivity. Villagers extended a traditional welcome to Minister Rajwade and participated in the celebration with great enthusiasm.
