Review Meeting on Implementation of Cosmic Class and Various Education Initiatives in Lunglei District

Lunglei, Sept 2025 : Under the leadership of Lunglei Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pi Navneet Mann, a review meeting was held at the DC’s office to discuss preparations for the launch of several initiatives under the Cosmic Class and Education Enrichment Programme in Lunglei District and Lungsen Aspirational Block.

Officials from the DC Office, District Education Office, Information & Public Relations Department, Lead Bank, SDO (Civil) Tlabung, and BDO Lungsen attended the meeting.

The upcoming programmes include:

• Cosmic Class: Mizoram’s first dedicated Astronomy Lab, providing advanced science learning experiences.
• Learning Bridges: Special support to help school dropouts resume education.
• Book Nest Initiative: A project to collect and distribute books, including storybooks and classics, for children in remote areas.
• English Language Foundation (ELF): English learning support for primary school students, especially in early grades.
• Period Pride: Awareness and health initiative to promote menstrual hygiene and dignity among girl students.
• Money Wise: A financial literacy programme to teach students money management and financial responsibility.

These initiatives are being jointly implemented by different departments and partner agencies, with their official launch scheduled for September 10, 2025, to be inaugurated by School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana.

As per the plan, on September 10, 2025 (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM, the Cosmic Classroom at Government Leitlangpui High School will be formally inaugurated by the Minister. This will be followed by a meeting at the School Education Complex Conference Hall to launch the various initiatives.

On the same day, the following events will also take place:

• Launch of the Learning Bridges QR Code system and distribution of bicycles to selected students.
• Book Nest Initiative inauguration and book distribution ceremony.
• Launch of ELF (English Language Foundation), Period Pride, and Money Wise programmes.
• Virtual inauguration (online) of Cosmic Classrooms at Lungsen and Tlabung by the Minister.
