Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Reassures Tourists from Maharashtra Stranded in Nepal

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke over the phone with tourists from Maharashtra stranded in Nepal and reassured them of the state government’s full support. He assured the tourists that every effort was being made to bring them back safely to Maharashtra.

Around 150 tourists from the state are currently stranded in Nepal. Mr. Shinde personally interacted with some of them late tonight, speaking with a group of tourists staying at a hotel in Nepal and offering them reassurance.

A large number of the stranded tourists are from Murbad taluka in Maharashtra. The Deputy Chief Minister also spoke to them via mobile phone, assuring them that the state government, with the assistance of the central government, is working to ensure their safe return to Maharashtra.
