“Ghoomar Festival 2025” to be Held for the First Time in Jaipur on CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s Initiative
Jaipur, Sept 2025: For the first time, “Ghoomar Festival 2025” will be organized in Jaipur on November 15, 2025, under the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma. The festival aims to showcase Rajasthan’s rich folk culture and promote women empowerment at national and international levels. Preparatory meetings for the grand event were held on September 11 at the District Collectorate, chaired by District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism, Art & Culture Minister Diya Kumari.
Dr. Soni instructed officials to ensure timely and effective preparations so that the festival becomes a grand symbol of Rajasthan’s culture and traditions. Joint Director of Tourism, Dr. Punita Singh, stated that the festival will not only celebrate folk culture but also send a powerful message of women empowerment.
Deputy Director of Tourism, Mr. Upendra Singh Shekhawat, shared that the main venues under consideration are Chitrakoot Stadium, Polo Ground, and Bhawani Niketan College Ground. Participant registration will begin on September 15 via the Tourism Department’s online portal. A maximum of 20 participants per institution will be allowed for group registration, and registered institutions will receive an incentive of ₹500. An official festival song will be released, and various workshops will be conducted from November 9 to 13.
The Tourism Department will manage tents, lighting, sound, decoration, and photo-video coverage. Transportation arrangements will be made for participants from schools and colleges, and essential amenities like drinking water, sanitation, and electricity will be provided by the Municipal Corporation, PHED, and JVVNL. Adequate police, medical, and emergency services will be deployed, and facilities such as food stalls, souvenir shops, and restrooms will be available.
A special jury will oversee preparations and coordination. District Collector Dr. Soni directed all departments to work collaboratively and proactively to elevate Rajasthan’s cultural heritage. The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector Mukesh Kumar Mund, officials from police, public works, municipal, JVVNL, anchor Preeti Saxena, Rotary & Lions Club members, and representatives from educational institutions, NGOs, and volunteer organizations.
