Ajit Pawar Directs DPR for Key Pune Roads Within a Month
Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) within a month for the Chandni Chowk–Jambhulwadi road and the Jain Hostel Bakori Phata–Bakori road. He also instructed the Pune Municipal Corporation to immediately hold meetings with landowners to expedite land acquisition for these projects.
The review meeting, chaired by Deputy CM Pawar at his office in Mantralaya, focused on the progress of key road projects including Chandni Chowk–Jambhulwadi, Jain Hostel Bakori Phata–Bakori, Wagholi–Kesnand, and Wagholi–Avhalwadi roads.
Highlighting the rapid urbanization in Pune, Pawar noted that increasing traffic congestion has become a major challenge. He stressed that all agencies must work in coordination to address the city’s transport needs effectively.

Though the Wagholi–Kesnand and Wagholi–Avhalwadi stretches fall under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department, the Deputy CM emphasized that the PMRDA should take up these works on priority to reduce public inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) O.P. Gupta, Principal Secretary (Planning) Saurabh Vijay, Deputy CM’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, NHAI Pune Project Director Sanjay Kadam, and Deputy CM’s Joint Secretary Vikas Dhakne. Legislator Mauli Katke, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi, PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase, and PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram joined via video conferencing.
